this really cheered me up today

And brought back memories of one of my favorite childhood tunes, "Baby Beluga". Perhaps I will rock out to some Raffi tonight. Seeing these pictures also made me realize that I actually do like whales. This presents quite an exception to my usual disdain for non-human members of the animal kingdom.

So, it appears that the link to the Chicago Tribune requires subscription. Try this one if you're curious: http://www.nbc4.tv/news/9540884/detail.html. Also, I'm a little freaked out by the fact that so many baby whales die young. I'm hoping little baby boy beluga triumps over the infant mortality stats. Finally, I realize that Raffi's song refers to a "little white whale on the go" but that baby belugas appear in fact to be gray. I contemplated whether there was an insiduous nature to these lyrics but have concluded that they are merely alliterative.

arrgh, why can't you change spelling on a comment. in my haste to get back to the despised topic of remedies i spelled trimups instead of triumphs.

On to greater triumphs, IPFBD!

I like that you misspelled your misspelling.

Also, I think the Raffi song is actually about the child of Moby Dick - you know he has a PhD in English, right?
